Transit Tracker - NYC enhances the commuting experience by utilizing the MTA Bus Time vehicle monitoring service. This application allows users to download route schedules and access vital transit information seamlessly.

One of the notable features of Transit Tracker - NYC is its alert system that notifies users when a vehicle on a specified route is approaching or arriving at a particular stop. Users can easily define alerts for any desired MTA routes and stops.

For tracking purposes, users can input one or multiple route numbers, separated by spaces or commas, to view all vehicles on those routes. Additionally, entering a stop number generates a list of buses serving that stop, while inputting an individual vehicle number (displayed on the side of MTA buses) provides specific vehicle information.

Route Schedules

• Users can request schedules for any MTA route by simply entering its number. Schedules are available in the form of origin/destination tables or on a map interface.
• Tapping on a stop within the map displays the estimated arrival times for the next bus or train. Users can see all arrival times for that stop through an information window.

Close Stops

• This feature allows users to select their current location or an address to find nearby MTA stops. Options are available to specify the maximum number of stops returned and to filter by route if desired.

Alerts

• The alert functionality enables users to set notifications for nearby MTA vehicles based on their approach to particular stops. These alerts rely on the adherence of vehicles to predefined MTA routes.
• It is important to note that should a vehicle be on detour or not following its designated route, alerts may not function as anticipated.

Additional Features

• Select between light and dark themes.
• Enable satellite imagery and/or color-coded traffic data on the map.
• Prevent the map screen from dimming or shutting off while in use.
• Customize the update interval for MTA vehicle locations.
• Select a unique ringtone for alerts.
